L@九月|群展:站出来,出头鸟/ Standing Out, the Outstandings
64A Bayard Street, New York NY 10013
Global Friendship Exchange Foundation (a US-based 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization)建立了战略合作关系。

Hongzheng Han (b.1992, Nanjing), preferred to pronounce is they/them, received their BFA with honors from Parsons, the New School in 2017, and an MA with distinction from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU in 2019. During their study at the IFA, Han co-founded IFA Contemporary Asia, the first pan-Asian art forum at NYU. Han is now an independent curator, a board member at Asian Creative Foundation, and a research assistant at the Matthew Barney Studio in New York City. Focusing on queer and racial identities, Han has been invited as a guest speaker at the University of Edinburgh, University of Michigan, the Brooklyn Rail, and the Asian Creative Collective. Han’s recent curatorial works include Within Global Isolation: Asian Artists in America; Runaway World 2020: Ten Chinese Artists Group Show, Beyond Borders: Art in the Post COVID Era, Standing Out, the Outstandings, and Stuck in Between: Tan Siyuan’s Solo Exhibition. Han is also the curatorial assistant for the Asia Society and Museum’s 2022 exhibition, Mirror Image: A New View of Chinese Identity.
Vincent CY Chen (b. 1993, Taiwan) is a New York-based artist who works in sculpture and installation. He creates multimedia displays that negotiate shame and desire with work that allures with saturated colors, curvaceous forms, and illumination. He is a co-founder of De:Formal, an online platform dedicated to promoting artists who work with mediums under-recognized in the conventional gallery system. He received his BFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in 2015, and his MFA in Studio Art at New York University in 2019. His work has been shown in Super Dutchess Gallery (New York, USA), Spazio In Situ Gallery (Rome, Italy), Satellite Art Show (New York, USA), 80 WSE Gallery (New York, USA), Field Projects Gallery (New York, USA), MANA Contemporary (New Jersey, USA), and more.
Ronghui Chen is a fine art photographer currently based in New Haven. He has worked as a journalist and photographer in China for many years. His work focuses on different dimensions of China’s urbanization and industrialization. He has published two photobooks, Freezing Land, and Land of Ambitions, and exhibited both in China and internationally. He has won a number of awards including the World Press Photo; BarTur Photo Award; Three Shadows Photography Award & AlPA special prize and Hou Dengke Documentary Photography Award.
Fang Yuan (b.1996, Shenzhen, China) is a visual artist who lives and works in New York. She graduated from the Visual and Critical Studies Program at the School of Visual Arts (B.F.A.) with Rhodes Family Award for Outstanding Achievement among with many other awards. Her works have been widely exhibited in the United States and China. She is currently a M.F.A. candidate at the School of Visual Arts who is expected to graduate in 2022.
Fang's practice began with a self-detachment from the external environment while maintaining a rebellious posture of exile. Throughout her upbringing, she has been constantly experiencing a lack of belonging and displacements projected by her surroundings. For her, change is a real and vivid physical experience. Her practice embodies the exploration of the concept of eternity, that is, to hunt for the illusion between infinity and the so-called reality. She allows different levels of space to blend with each other, constructing impossible spaces stacked in parallel, gazing at how ambiguous shapes in three-dimensional space are rendered on the plane, and the interweaving of the intangible but apparently existing and dependent relationships between each other.
Kacy Jung is a Taiwanese visual artist working with photography, photo-sculpture, and performance, based in San Francisco. Before she began her journey in art, she was working in biomedical science for many years when she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming an artist. Since then, she continuously investigates how socialization shapes the construction and reconstruction of identity. The subject often intertwines with the manipulative nature of the capitalist system, the anxiety of being part of the disappearing middle class, and her immigrant experience in the USA.
Kacy's works have been shown/awarded internationally. She is the acceptant of the Harlan Jackson Diversity Scholarship from the San Francisco Art Institute and Headlands Center for the Arts Affiliate Artist Program. Her works have been shown at Berkeley Art Museum, De Young Museum in California, Hastings College in Nebraska, and multiple galleries and private collections in the USA and Taiwan. She is currently participating in a two-year-long Studio Artist Program at Root Division Gallery in San Francisco, CA, USA.
Wednesday Kim is an interdisciplinary artist and a co-founder of De:Formal Online Gallery. She is from Seoul, South Korea and is currently based out of Alaska. Kim works with a mixture of analog and digital media including 3D animation, video, performance, installation, print, and sculpture. Her work is informed by personal experiences and human psychology; she derives imagery from nightmares, intrusive thoughts, and childhood trauma. Furthermore, she portrays the absurdity of information-saturated contemporary life in a surrealist fashion through wordplay, Wikipedia, voyeurism, and witticism.

She received her BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London and MFA in Visual Arts from Columbia University, New York. XiangLong Li (b.1995 HuangShi, China; lives in Brooklyn, New York). He earned his BFA in Illustrated Book degree from China Central Academy of Fine Arts and received MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts. In his body of works, he remixes images, texts, and 3D model materials from pop culture, social events, and the internet. XiangLong's projects are full of sick jokes, make fun of cultural mistranslation and the cultural discrepancy between China and the West. He uses digital collages, painting, and screenshots exposing the fractured social mores of racism and western settler violence.
